Fort Myers Beach is a famous Florida Beach town. Fort Myers Beach is located on Estero Island in Lee County in Southwest Florida.

Fort Myers Beach is located on an island which is why the town was so severely damaged when the Gulf Ocean waters rose more than fifteen feet during Hurricane Ian.

The island has a mix of year-round and seasonal residents – known locally as “snowbirds”. Fort Myers Beach offers a vibrant tourism industry attracted to the white sand beach and moderate temperatures. On December 31, 1995, legislation was passed to incorporate the town of Fort Myers Beach.

The town is governed by a Town Council. The Town of Fort Myers Beach also operates Bay Oaks Recreational Campus on Fort Myers Beach. The BORC features now include four full-size outdoor tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, two full-size indoor basketball courts, a weight room a public pool, and a children’s pool with a large slide. This SW FL Public pool is also available for lap swimmers.
